Streetlight outage Downtown Cleveland sparks safety and security concerns

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A number of streetlights should not working within the coronary heart of Cleveland’s downtown, sparking security and safety issues for individuals who stay there.

For at the least every week, the lights alongside Chester Avenue between East ninth and East twelfth Avenue have been off.

In 2019, the town launched a $35 million streetlight mission to interchange the lights with new LED lights.

Based on Cleveland Public Energy, the mission is 88% full.
