Shoplifters drop expensive clothing and run: Beachwood blotter

BEACHWOOD, Ohio

Theft: Cedar Road

At 4:50 p.m. May 23, two male suspects attempted to steal clothing from Saks Fifth Avenue at Beachwood Place mall, 26300 Cedar Road.

When discovered concealing the costly items, the suspects ran, dropping what they were attempting to shoplift.

The suspects were not apprehended. The clothing they dropped totaled $11,621.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 7 p.m. May 24, loss prevention at Sephora at Beachwood Place reported that, earlier that day, two suspects had left the store with stolen merchandise totaling $736.

At 4:25 p.m. May 24, police arrested a Garfield Heights man, 25, for concealing and stealing merchandise valued at $45 from Dillard’s at Beachwood Place.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 5 p.m. May 25, police arrested two boys and one man for the theft of $135 worth of goods from Dillard’s.

Arrested and charged with theft and marijuana possession were a Garfield Heights man, 18, a Cleveland boy, 17, and a Garfield Heights boy, 16.

Theft from mail: Green Road

At 4:25 p.m. May 25, a Shaker Heights man, 57, reported that a check for $3,300 he had mailed at the Beachwood post office, 3695 Green Road, had been stolen.

Aggravated menacing: Interstate 271

At 4 p.m. May 25, a Euclid woman, 21, reported that during a road rage incident on I-271 southbound, a female suspect in another car pointed a gun at her. The suspect could not be identified.

Vehicle trespass: Elmhurst Drive

At 7:40 a.m. May 26, a Beachwood woman, 33, reported that someone had entered her Audi car and damaged the door handle while the vehicle was parked in her driveway. Nothing was reported stolen.

At 1 p.m. May 26, police arrested a Willowick woman, 20, for stealing merchandise totaling $29 from Dillard’s.

At 4:05 p.m. May 26, police arrested a Maple Heights man, 29, for stealing goods valued at $85 from Dillard’s.

Having a weapon under disability: Cedar Road

At 12:55 p.m. May 26, a Cleveland woman, 24, who had been issued a criminal trespass warning stemming from a prior incident at Saks Fifth Avenue, returned to the store.

When stopped by security and asked if she had a weapon, the woman admitted to carrying a gun. Police charged the woman with having a weapon under disability and criminal trespassing.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 4:55 p.m. May 27, police arrested two boys for stealing goods valued at a total of $109.50 from Dillard’s. Arrested were a Cleveland boy, 15, and a 16-year-old boy.
