According to the highway patrol, the chase broke out around 5:45 p.m. in the area of St. Clair Avenue and East 145th Street.

Ask Yadi: Buying a home: Should you avoid areas with opposing political views?
CLEVELAND, Oh – My husband and I have been house hunting. I am very mindful of the political signs in the areas that we are considering. I have refused to even look at or consider houses in neighborhoods or where the neighbors clearly support certain candidates. Some even have flags displayed that I personally find offensive.
He thinks that I am being ridiculous in my thinking — that my thought process is keeping us from some very nice homes in our price range and good deals on homes.
I understand that although these homes may be in our price range and check off certain boxes, I wouldn’t feel comfortable in these neighborhoods. I can’t see myself being social with those that live around me. I don’t even think that I would feel safe especially given my nationality.
He thinks I am overreacting and reminds me that just because the neighbors don’t have political signs outside of their homes doesn’t mean that they aren’t racist or have opposing viewpoints than we do.
While I understand this, I told him that at least if it isn’t visible I would feel better about it.
Reader question: Am I overreacting, or should I stand by my gut feeling to stay away from these neighborhoods?
Answer: Clearly, you and your husband aren’t on the same page about this. But you will both be living there. Buying a home is a huge commitment.
Nobody wants to feel uncomfortable in their own home or neighborhood. If you are ready to buy, then I would think that you would like to stay put for a while.
This is also a very important election, and many people have felt the need to openly display their support for the candidate they believe in. Ask yourself this…if you were looking at these same properties at a different time of the year when there were no political signs, would you still be interested?
Your husband is right in pointing out that not everyone will openly show their support for candidates, so you may not know where your neighbors may or may not stand in their political beliefs. This election has divided many people already. Just because you may not have the same views as your neighbor doesn’t mean that you can’t be civil or get along.
Visit these neighborhoods during the day, on a weekend when people may be out. Stop and ask for directions or a question about the community. See if they are friendly before moving forward.
At the end of the day, you must follow your gut. Homes aren’t cheap, and you should be happy with your purchase and most importantly feel safe.

Car slams into popular Ohio City restaurant
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A driver lost control of his vehicle early Thursday and slammed into an Ohio City restaurant, causing extensive damage.
The crash happened just after 3 a.m. in the 2000 block of Gehring Ave.
The driver’s car ended up in the front entrance of Jaja.
According to the restaurant’s website, they opened their doors in 2022 and are a “modern steakhouse, featuring Argentinian-inspired grilled meats, artisan cocktails and high-design all under a retractable glass roof.”
Cleveland EMS transported the 24-year-old male driver to a local hospital with serious injuries.
According to Cleveland police, the crash remains under investigation, but speed appears to be a factor.
Police added the vehicle was not stolen.

Video: Bronny James Scores 1st Points of NBA Career for Lakers vs. Cavs, Excites Fans

Bronny James made his second NBA appearance on Wednesday in a matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Los Angeles Lakers rookie checked in during the fourth quarter, getting a big applause from Cavaliers fans. His first NBA appearance came in the Lakers’ season opener when he checked in briefly in the first half.
Moments after coming into the game, James notched his first career points on a stepback jumper.
After the bucket, fans applauded James for collecting his first career points.
James hasn’t seen too much action so far in his young NBA career. He played just three minutes last week against the Minnesota Timberwolves, recording a rebound and missing both of his shot attempts.
On Wednesday, he played five minutes and recorded two points, a pair of assists and a steal.
It was a special moment for James as he got the chance to play and score his first points against the team he grew up watching his father, LeBron James, play for. The elder James spent the first seven years of his career in Cleveland and played for the Cavs for four more seasons after his time with the Miami Heat.
He led Cleveland to five NBA Finals appearances and brought the franchise its first championship in 2016.
While James likely would have preferred to get on the board for the first time last week, there’s nothing like scoring for the first time in your hometown.
Unfortunately, the circumstances for his first basket weren’t ideal as the Lakers lost in blowout fashion to the Cavs. James will look to build on his showing on Wednesday and eventually contribute regularly for Los Angeles.
