Northeast Ohio weather: A lot warmer Friday; rain returns Friday night

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – It was a very cold morning across northern Ohio with widespread low temperatures in the 30s.

Some spots even made it down into the 20s, including Brimfield, Fairlawn, Bainbridge, Sagamore Hills, Mentor, Ashtabula, and Valley City.

A few locations were within one degree of record low temperatures but the only official broken record this morning was at Akron-Canton.

Talk about a cold morning for mid-May!

The good news is that this will be the coldest morning we experience for quite some time.

Overnight lows will be, generally, in the 40s and 50s for the next week.

Our next weather-maker will arrive on Friday.

Ahead of it, temperatures will be very warm.

The 19 First Alert Weather Team is forecasting highs in the mid to upper 70s on Friday afternoon.

Isolated showers and storms will develop by mid-afternoon Friday, but not everyone will see rain.

The most numerous showers will arrive after 8:00 p.m.

Rain will continue into Saturday morning.

Saturday will be cooler-than-average with highs in the low to mid 60s.

Skies will gradually clear Saturday afternoon, and the second half of the weekend will be nice and quiet.

In fact, the weather will remain tranquil and dry through next Thursday.

Temperatures are trending a little warmer next week, too.
