Musk rebrands Twitter to ‘X’: Darcy cartoons

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Already trashing Twitter after having spent billions to buy it, owner Elon Musk is now literally X-ing-out the social media company’s iconic blue bird logo, replacing it with the letter ‘X’, not Daffy duck or a DoDo bird, both of which Musk seems to be operating like.

Before the new ‘X’ brand was unveiled Monday, Musk on Sunday tweeted:

And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually all the birds.”

Oh My! Does that mean Musk is next buying the Cardinals, Blue Jays, Orioles, Ravens, Dove, Birdseye, NBC peacock or most fittingly, AngryBirds? Would a U.S. President Musk also pluck the Eagle?

Musk appears to have a fixation with the letter ‘X’ even naming his young son that. Then there’s his rocket operation known as SpaceX, short for Space Exploration Technologies Corp. Musk is also the founder of PayPal, but X.com was its original name.

Twitter’s newest competitor is Threads, whose owner Meta had also changed its name from Facebook.

Monday, Musk had illuminated Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters building with the new ‘X’ logo. But typical for Musk’s operation, workers were stopped by police from removing the big bird logo off the building because they did not have the proper permits or sidewalk below blocked off.
