MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Metropolis Constructing Director Braden Thomas has ordered all 80 items of the Mayfield Gardens Flats evacuated after an engineer working for the proprietor decided the buildings to be unsafe.
Thomas issued a letter Friday (July 8) informing the homeowners, LHU Mayfield Gardens LP, believed to be primarily based in New Jersey, that the 2, four-story buildings had been condemned. On July 7, the South Euclid engineering agency I.A. Lewin, P.E. & Associates, concluded that the Mayfield Gardens, 1583-87 Mallard Drive (situated behind the Mayland Commons growth) required “quick” consideration.
