Geauga County house fire kills mother and her daughter; father and son able to escape

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Round 2:20 a.m. on Thursday, a 911 name got here in to the Hambden Township Fireplace Division. It was as a result of a home on Taylor Wells Highway was on hearth.

When the fireplace division arrived they noticed thick smoke bellowing from the home windows and the roof of the home the place a household of 4 lived.

Robert Sharpe and his 7-year-old son have been capable of escape the fireplace.

The boy’s mom and younger sister Khole Sharpe weren’t. They died within the smoke-filled home.

Fireplace Chief Scott Hildenbrand briefed 19 Information.

“In response to the daddy, the little bit we talked to him, he was attempting to get her out, however the smoke obtained too heavy so he was unable to get the mom out or the daughter.”

Hiden and her daughter perished in the home. A neighbor had this response to the lethal blaze:

“Horrible. Simply horrible. Younger child, the mom’s younger. I’m 75, so if I’m going, high quality. I hoped it was the home subsequent door as a result of there’s no one there.”

Chief Hildenbrand stated there have been no working smoke detectors in the home and the trigger is below investigation.
