COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five-star safety Trey McNutt will make his college decision on July 19, he officially announced on Wednesday.
He’ll choose between Florida, Ohio State, Oregon, USC and Texas A&M. He’s the No. 19 overall player and No. 1 safety in the 2025 class and hails from Shaker Heights.
The fact that his decision is coming in July doesn’t seem to be good news for Ohio State, considering the Buckeyes have seemingly been behind in his recruitment for a few months. He was not part of the official visit wave that came to Columbus in May and June.
Should McNutt choose the Ducks, they would have three five-star commitments, including three top 50 pledges that were once Ohio State targets.
Ohio State currently has three safety commits in Faheem Delane, Cody Haddad and Deshawn Stewart.
