Cleveland teen wanted in connection to 3 shootings, murder surrenders

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office said a Cleveland teen wanted for murder surrendered to authorities less than three hours after they held a press conference.

The U.S. Marshals and Cleveland police have taken custody of Antonio Baker, who is accused in at least three shootings, including one murder.

Earlier Thursday, Prosecutor Michael O’Malley and U.S. Marshal Peter Elliot brought attention to the case with a press conference.

“Antonio [Baker] is a danger to the public,” O’Malley said. He said Baker was one of three people wanted in connection to a Sept. 20 homicide at Arbor Park in the city’s Central neighborhood.

O’Malley said U.S. Marshals took the second suspect, Bryce Tanksley, 18, into custody Thursday morning.

The third suspect, a 15-year-old boy, was shot and killed Wednesday night, according to O’Malley.

He had warned Baker could be at risk if he did not surrender. “It is very possible that if he is not brought into custody safely that he is also the target, potential target,” O’Malley said.

The prosecutor said there were recent reports of Baker spotted in the King Kennedy neighborhood.

O’Malley also said it’s believed Baker received a shooting injury Monday, sought treatment at University Hospitals, and then fled when police arrived.
