Cleveland Public Library breaks ground on new Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. branch in University Circle

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Group leaders broke floor on what would be the new Martin Luther King Jr. Department on Stokes Blvd in College Circle.

The brand new department will occupy the primary two flooring of an 11-story condominium constructing known as the Library Lofts and embody a Social Justice Heart, a desk of brotherhood, an expanded kids’s space, and the Library’s Anisfield-Wolf e-book assortment which honors writings on race and equality.

Patrons inform 19 Information it’s been a very long time coming they usually’re excited concerning the new area that they hope will improve their lives and this neighborhood.

The present department will stay open throughout building. The brand new constructing is about to be accomplished in Spring 2024.
