Cleveland church supplies ‘hams and yams for fams’

CLEVELAND — A northeast Ohio church helps feed households in want this Thanksgiving.

​St. Casimir Polish Church collected donations to offer 25 hams and 75 kilos of yams to some households of scholars at Willson Faculty. Faculty workers members plan to find out the scholars most in want of the meals and distribute the meals earlier than the vacation break. 

“One advantage of the hams is they will make a meal out of this for a number of days, in order that’s a great factor,” stated John Niedzialek, a parishioner of St. Casimir. “And straightforward to cook dinner; you simply heat them up and so forth. He stated the yams have been offered by Miller High quality Produce. 

Niedzialek delivered the carload of meat and several other packing containers of candy potatoes to the varsity on Monday.

Eighth grade scholar Jashaun Walston helped separate the yams into baggage to be given to classmates in want.

“Lots of households, it should make their vacation,” Walston stated. 

He stated giving again to the neighborhood, regardless of how small the gesture, makes a distinction. 

“It sort of makes me really feel completed as a person,” he stated. “You recognize, I really feel proud.”

Niedzialek stated he and his fellow parishioners really feel equally, grateful for the prospect to share some blessings.
