CLEVELAND, Ohio — Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and George Ezra high this week’s new music releases, whereas Elton John and BTS are amongst these digging into the vaults (all topic to alter)…

Album of the Week: After a pair of religious releases, Carrie Underwood returns to secular songs along with her ninth studio album, “Denim & Rhinestones” (Capitol Nashville). Underwood co-produced with David Garcia and co-wrote on all 12 tracks and has stated the album’s retro taste was impressed by her Reflection: The Final Vegas Residency that she launched final December at Resorts World.

Album Title of the Week: Kula Shaker, “1st Congregational Church of Everlasting Love and Free Hugs” (StrangeF.O.L.Ok LLP)

Did Ya Know?: The EP “The Resurrection of Rust” (Capitol) reunites Elvis Costello (then often called D.P. MacManus) together with his Rusty bandmate Allan Mayes for brand new recordings of six songs from the group’s early ‘70s membership repertoire — together with a pair of Nick Lowe songs and a mash-up of Neil Younger’s “Everyone Is aware of That is Nowhere” and “Dance, Dance, Dance.”
