Body found in Cleveland’s Cudell neighborhood
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A heavy Cleveland police presence surrounded an abandoned building in the 8700 block of Detroit Avenue Sunday afternoon.
19 News crews on the scene said EMS and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office responded.
The initial call to Cleveland Police indicated that a construction crew at an abandoned, rundown property found what appeared to be a decomposing body. It’s unclear whether the body was inside or outside of one of the vacant apartments.
A body was removed from the property, but what’s unclear is if the body is that of a man or woman, how long the body may have been there if the person died on the property or was dumped there, and if the person died of natural causes, a drug overdose or if they were murdered.
Police and EMS have not confirmed the circumstances behind the incident at this time.
