Who is Nicki Minaj?

Minaj was born in Trinidad before moving to Jamaica, Queens, when she was 5 years old.

After releasing mixtapes in the early 2000s, she signed with Lil Wayne’s label Young Money in 2009. Minaj was known for her versatile style, “animated” rap flow and use of alter egos like “Roman.”

She was nominated at the 53rd Grammys in the Best New Artist category in 2012, but lost to Bon Iver. She’s been nominated 11 other times over the years in categories including Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song, but has yet to win.

Minaj’s debut album “Pink Friday” came out in November 2010, landing in the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 and became certified platinum by year’s end. The album’s fifth single “Super Bass” proved to be the most successful becoming certified 12-times platinum in the U.S. and surpassing Missy Elliott’s “Work It” as the highest-charting solo single for a female rapper, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. The music video has more than 1 billion views on YouTube as of April 2024.

Her latest album “Pink Friday 2” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when it came out in December, making Minaj the first female rapper ever to have the most No. 1’s on the Billboard 200, according to Live Nation.

Minaj is no stranger to controversy having been involved in social media spats over the years with other prominent artists such as ex-boyfriend Meek Mill, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto and even Taylor Swift.

What are Barbz?

Similar to Beyoncé’s Beyhive, Swift’s Swifties or Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters, Barbz are the self-proclaimed super fans of Minaj.

Cleveland, OH – Ohio residents should brace for intense storms beginning Sunday evening, with the Cleveland area and I-90 corridor in the path of severe weather.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, strong to severe thunderstorms are likely from Sunday afternoon into early Monday. These storms could bring damaging winds up to 50 mph, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. Rainfall totals may exceed half an inch, especially during high-impact storm cells.

Travelers on I-90 and I-71 should expect hazardous conditions Sunday night. Sudden downpours may reduce visibility and create ponding on roadways, increasing accident risks. Commuters and residents are urged to secure outdoor items, monitor local alerts, and prepare for possible power outages.

Temperatures will remain unseasonably warm through Sunday, with highs near 69°F. However, cooler air returns Monday as highs dip to 57°F, accompanied by lingering rain.

Extended 5-Day Cleveland Forecast:
