OBITUARY
(nee Everhardt), of Middleburg Heights, formerly of Avon Lake, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Royal Oak Hospice after a short illness. Ada was born December 30, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA. Beloved wife of the late Terry R. Taylor (2012); loving mother of Elliot E. Taylor; loving ‘pet mom’ of Molly and Kitty; daughter of the late Pendleton B. and Inez (nee Chestnut) Everhardt; sister of the late Joyce Everhardt. Ada was a well-known and respected Real Estate Agent/Broker for 51 years in the Greater Cleveland area. 39 of those years were spent at Howard Hanna. She graduated from West Tech High School and then earned her Bachelor’s degree in education from BGSU before going full time in Real Estate. Ada was an Honors English, History and Journalism teacher at Lorain High School from 1971 ‘ 1975. Also, for a short time in the 80’s she was a lobbyist in Washington, DC for independent business owners. Ada is survived by her son Elliott E. Taylor and cousins David Dieball (Marilyn), Allan Dieball Benjamin Dieball and Donna Bednar (Michael). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to City Dogs Cleveland, 9203 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, OH 44102. A private Graveside Service will be held at St. Joseph/Elmhurst Cemetery in Avon. CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Detectives from the Cleveland Police Second District are investigating a shooting that hospitalized a man Saturday.
Police say they responded to the 4300 block of West 47th Street for a report of a man being shot.
When police arrived at the scene, they located a 40-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his leg.
Police report that officers and EMS provided medical attention to the man at the scene before he was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Detectives continue to investigate the shooting.

In the SECOND inning, with one out and Rhys Hoskins on third and Travis Bazzana on first, Austin Hedges laid down a squeeze bunt to try to score Hoskins. Hoskins, running through a vat of January-tempered molasses, was tagged out. It was truly dumbfounding strategic thinking… clearly coming from the dugout. Stephen, baby, STOP THIS. It’s idiotic.
If the Guardians can find a way to win this afternoon, I will agree to forgive everything that has come before. That’s how important this game is. 2:10PM. Another bad starter who will somehow handle Cleveland’s lineup, looks like.

GENEVA, Ohio (WOIO) – Young athletes from across the nation will be in Northeast Ohio beginning Sunday to compete in the 2026 Patriot Games in Geneva.
19 News has learned President Donald Trump has a day trip planned Tuesday to the Cleveland area but has not yet confirmed that it’s to attend the games.
Trump announces Patriot Games for 2026
Games organizer Freedom 250 announced in July that SPIRE Academy will serve as the host venue for the first national competition.
The games were first announced in 2025 and meant to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday.
Athletes ages 14 to 17 from across the country will compete in a series of challenges that are “designed to test strength, endurance, agility, teamwork, and perseverance.”
According to Freedom 250, one young man and one young woman will be crowned the inaugural game champions and will earn a $125,000 scholarship.
Freedom 250 said athletes’ skill sets will be tested in elements of various sports, including football, basketball, soccer, track and more.
Athletes will compete individually and in teams.
The host organization adds that “competitors will be tested on the skills from the Presidential Fitness Test, go through a military-inspired boot camp circuit, and finalists will compete in an obstacle course designed to test strategy and skill.”
