2 former East Cleveland police officers indicted on bribery, tampering charges

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Workplace stated two former East Cleveland law enforcement officials had been indicted Friday on costs of bribery and tampering with information.

Von Harris, 52, and Demarkco Johnson, 28, are accused of offering false police reviews in trade for cash.

In response to prosecutors, the crimes came about in June of 2018 round East Cleveland.

Harris and Johnson are dealing with the next costs:

Information present the pair are due again in court docket on Sept. 28 for arraignment.

The Euclid Police Division, which at the moment employs Johnson, stated he’s now on administrative depart.

The division employed Johnson in June of 2021 after a background test, together with a polygraph check, Euclid police stated.
