Rapper Coolio dead at 59; known for ‘Gangsta’s Paradise,’ ‘Fantastic Voyage’

LOS ANGELES — Rapper Coolio, who achieved mainstream success within the 90s for songs reminiscent of “Gangsta’s Paradise” and “Implausible Voyage,” has died on the age of 59.

Our sister station KABC-TV confirmed the rapper’s dying on Wednesday evening. It was later confirmed once more to CNN by his buddy and supervisor Jarzey Posey.

Coolio, whose actual identify is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., is greatest identified for his 1995 Grammy Award-winning hit single “Gangsta’s Paradise,” which was featured within the film “Harmful Minds” starring Michelle Pfeiffer.

Particulars on the circumstances of Coolio’s dying weren’t instantly clear.
