Illegal pool with 60 tons of water discovered on rooftop in New York City
NEW YORK CITY — “Please do not attempt to construct a rooftop swimming pool with out first getting permits.”
That is the message New York Metropolis officers are sending out to residents after a giant discovery was made in Brooklyn.
The New York Metropolis Division of Buildings stated officers found a 480-square-foot swimming pool constructed atop an occupied constructing on Tuesday.
Officers stated it wasn’t constructed to code. It was drained and eliminated that day.
The DOB stated the 30×16 ft extensive, 4 ft deep pool was holding practically 60 tons of water.
The constructing homes a day care heart on the third flooring, officers stated.
The DOB was reminding NYC residents who wish to have a rooftop pool to look into the right permits and “hiring professionals to do the job correctly.”
