Hollywood trailblazer Anna May Wong to become 1st Asian American on US currency

WASHINGTON — Hollywood trailblazer Anna Might Wong would be the first Asian American to be featured on some U.S. quarters.

The U.S. Mint will start delivery the fifth coin within the American Girls Quarters Program on Monday, October 24.

The coin will function Wong, who rose to fame and have become the primary Chinese language American movie star in Hollywood.

“The fifth coin in our American Girls Quarters Program honors Anna Might Wong, a brave advocate who championed for elevated illustration and extra multi-dimensional roles for Asian American actors,” Mint Director Ventris C. Gibson mentioned.

Wong’s profession spanned movement footage, tv and theatre, leaving a long-lasting legacy for Asian American girls within the leisure trade.
