CTA driver injured after group throws rocks at bus in West Woodlawn: CPD

CHICAGO (WLS) — A CTA bus driver was injured after Chicago police mentioned a gaggle threw rocks on the bus Wednesday evening within the West Woodlawn neighborhood.

The 30-year-old driver was within the 500 block of East 63rd Road at about 10:39 p.m. when police mentioned she crossed the group throwing rocks.

One of many rocks entered the motive force’s facet window and hit the motive force in her neck, police mentioned.

Passengers on the bus mentioned they did not know what was being pelted at them.

“We simply hit the ground,” bus passenger James mentioned. “The bus driver bought hit with one thing. She form of went into shock. Everyone was form of ‘Transfer the bus, transfer the bus,’ however it’s form of arduous to tel someone that when they’re shocked.”

The motive force was transported to St. Bernard Hospital in good situation, police mentioned.

Nobody is in custody and Space One detectives are investigating.
