BERWYN, Unwell. (WLS) — A contractor is suing the town of Berwyn, its mayor and a former metropolis employee over their response to a racial slur.

Phil Robbin mentioned metropolis investigators didn’t interview him when he reported the incident in Could.

Robbin mentioned he was parked in that alley whereas on a job eradicating a tree from a buyer’s yard when a lady, whom he later realized was Berwyn faculty board member Sarah Lopez, drove up in a marked metropolis car and ordered him to maneuver his truck.

In response to a police report, Lopez instructed a responding officer she did name Robbin the “N” phrase after which mentioned, “I’m so sick and uninterested in these folks!”

The report mentioned Lopez additionally instructed police she labored as a “Blight Inspector” for the Berwyn buildings division and had “…acquired a number of calls” about Robbin’s truck blocking the alley.

She later acknowledged that “there have been no calls.”

Lopez, who used to work as “Blight Inspector,” was fired in August. Berwyn South Faculty District 100 mentioned Lopez has since resigned from the board, saying her alleged “conduct doesn’t replicate the beliefs of the Board of Training.”

Lopez has not commented publicly on the incident.

In a press release, the town of Berwyn mentioned partially, “The Mayor and the Metropolis categorically and unequivocally deny the allegations in Mr. Robbins grievance made towards them. The Metropolis expressly and explicitly condemns all types of racism.”
