Chicago Ukrainian church burglarized in Humboldt Park; thieves caught on security video, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — A Ukrainian church in metropolis’s Humboldt Park neighborhood was damaged into early Saturday morning, in accordance with Chicago police.

At about 1:08 a.m., police stated they have been referred to as to the Holy Safety Parish of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine within the 2700-block of North Washtenaw.

Officers met with a custodial employee who instructed them the church had been burglarized, police stated.

Police say thieves broke a window on the aspect of the church to get inside. At the very least yet one more window gave the impression to be damaged as investigators cleaned up the glass and picked up proof this morning.

Video surveillance reveals a person taking a number of objects type the church, in accordance with police.

The church is a part of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyivan Patriarchate.

There is no such thing as a one in custody and Space Three detectives are investigating.
