Charges filed against armed man shot by Joliet officer after traffic stop, police say

JOLIET, Ailing. (WLS) — Costs have been filed in opposition to a person was shot by a Joliet officer Wednesday night time after authorities stated he fled a visitors cease and refused to drop a gun, police stated.

The taking pictures happened at about 11:12 p.m. within the 100-block of Linden Avenue, police stated. A passenger, 36-year-old Ryan Reddick of Joliet, armed with a handgun, fled from a automobile after a visitors cease.

An officer caught up with Reddick and ordered him a number of occasions to drop the gun, police stated. After Reddick refused, police stated the officer fired and struck the person.

After being shot, police stated Reddick continued to run and was positioned after attempting to cover from officers.

Reddick was transported to a hospital and his situation was not identified, police stated. A handgun was recovered from the scene, police stated.

Joliet Police Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Reddick on Friday, the division stated. He has been charged with being an armed routine prison in addition to two counts of illegal possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated illegal use of a weapon, possession of and grownup use of hashish in a motorcar and obstructing a peace officer.

Police stated a Will County decide set a bond for the warrant at $1,000,000. Reddick was launched from the hospital on Friday and was transported to the Joliet Police Division for processing after which taken to the Will County Grownup Detention Facility.
