2 suburban officers shot at, return fire in Englewood

CHICAGO — Two suburban officers have been shot at Thursday night time whereas working with the Vehicular Hijacking Process Power in Englewood on the South Facet.

The officers, from Melrose Park and Maywood, have been following a dark-colored SUV which was listed as stolen within the 5700 block of South Loomis Boulevard about 8:25 p.m. when the SUV stopped and occupants inside opened hearth earlier than driving off, Chicago police mentioned.

The officers returned hearth, however it was unclear if anybody within the SUV was shot, police mentioned.

Neither officer was shot, however each have been taken to an space hospital with non-life threatening accidents, officers mentioned.

The SUV was later discovered unoccupied, police mentioned.
