14-year-old boy found fatally shot in West Side alley ID’d

CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy was fatally shot Thursday in an alley in Homan Sq. on the West Facet.

Maleek Smith was discovered with a gunshot wound to the top about 2:05 p.m. within the 600-block of South Lawndale Avenue, Chicago police stated.

He was pronounced useless on the scene, police stated. The boy lived within the neighborhood, in accordance with the Prepare dinner County health worker’s workplace.
