100 Pounds of Meth at University City Garage Leads to Guilty Pleas

Two males pleaded responsible in federal courtroom in St. Louis to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine after making an attempt to purchase 100 kilos of the drug from a vendor working in league with regulation enforcement.

An announcement from the U.S. Legal professional’s Workplace says that Demond Benard McDaniels Jr., 26, of St. Charles, and Dawuane Lamont Rhodes Jr., 25, of St. Louis are every going through as much as 20 years in jail.

The responsible pleas stem from a site visitors cease that occurred in Kansas on October 8, 2020. Throughout the cease, a Geary County sheriff’s deputy discovered two duffel luggage with round 100 kilos of meth inside. The medication have been being transported from Colorado to McDaniels within the St. Louis space, in accordance with courtroom paperwork.

After intercepting the medication, the Drug Enforcement Administration organized for a “managed supply” of the medication to McDaniels at a a College Metropolis storage.

McDaniels’ plea settlement says that he dispatched Rhodes to select up the meth from the storage.

Rhodes was arrested carrying $15,005 in money in addition to an assault weapon and a pistol.

McDaniels was then instructed that Rhodes did not present to the purchase.

McDaniels arrived on the storage in College Metropolis to finish the transaction and was arrested with $6,930 in money and jewellery.

Based on courtroom filings, upon being arrested, McDaniels said, “I’ve lawyer.” Brokers requested McDaniels if he had a job and the way he may afford legal professional.

Based on his plea settlement, McDaniels uttered underneath his breath, “As a result of I promote medication.”

Brokers requested him to repeat the assertion. McDaniels laughed, saying, “Nah, I mentioned I promote canines.”

Later, authorities recovered $93,820 in money and a firearm from McDaniels’ residence.

McDaniels is about to be sentenced January 31 and Rhodes on February 1.
