Six groups to certify the highway worthiness of round 900 autos owned by academic establishments
The Transport Division on Saturday began inspection of autos owned by academic establishments to certify their highway worthiness.
Led by Transport Commissioner A.S Sivakumar, the officers began inspection of the autos on the Truck Terminal in Mettuplayam. The inspection of buses and vans would proceed on Sunday.
Mr. Sivakumar mentioned the division had recognized 900 autos owned by varied academic establishments for annual inspection. The division had fashioned six groups, comprising motor Automobile Inspectors and Assistant Motor Autos Inspectors to test the autos, he mentioned.
Inspection could be achieved to establish whether or not the autos are mechanically match. It concerned inspection of brakes, doorways, emergency home windows, seats, house for luggage and different options. Automobile paperwork reminiscent of insurance coverage, allow, driving licence, tax and air pollution management certificates can even be verified, the division mentioned in a launch.
