Claire Foy and Olivia Colman reflect on playing Queen Elizabeth

Foy spoke to BBC on the Toronto Worldwide Movie Pageant on Wednesday, praising the Queen for her life’s work.

“I feel that she was an unimaginable monarch,” she stated. “She united folks and he or she was an enormous image of continuity and dignity and beauty.”

Foy, who performed the Queen for the primary two seasons of the Netflix collection, which lined 1947 to 1964, added that she was “honored” to have portrayed her.

“My foremost feeling is simply excited about her as a mom and a grandmother and a great-grandmother, actually,” she stated. “I am very honored to have been a teeny tiny, small a part of her story.”

Colman, who performed the Queen in Seasons 3 and 4, masking 1964 via 1976, spoke to Selection on the pageant, saying the Queen led her life with dignity.

“She made a promise as a younger girl and he or she completely saved it with such dignity,” she stated. “We’re all extremely impressed by what she did.”

Buckingham Palace introduced that Queen Elizabeth died “peacefully” at age 96 on Sept. 8. She took on the title in 1952.

Seasons 1 via 4 of “The Crown” will be streamed on Netflix.
