Launched on — when else? — Might the Fourth, the trailer teases appearances from a younger Luke Skywalker, lightsaber-wielding villains and, in fact, a sure Sith identified for his belabored respiratory.

Billed as a “six-part occasion,” the restricted sequence follows Ewan McGregor’s legendary Jedi after his apprentice Anakin Skywalker has gone full darkish aspect in “Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.”

Years after Emperor Palpatine rose to energy and “Order 66’d” most Jedi, Obi-Wan nonetheless cannot catch a break: He is evading evil Inquisitors intent on looking him down as one of many galaxy’s final residing Jedi and protecting cautious tabs on a younger Luke Skywalker, residing merely on his Uncle Owen’s moisture farm on Tatooine.

The trailer ends with the immediately recognizable breaths of 1 Darth Vader, who, within the “Star Wars” timeline, solely not too long ago turned a Sith. Will the previous grasp and apprentice face off? It is possible — Hayden Christensen is reprising his function as a badly burnt Anakin/Vader within the sequence.
Additionally starring are Joel Edgerton, Kumail Nanjiani, Moses Ingram and Rupert Pal, amongst many others. Who will find yourself voicing a comical droid? How will Ingram and Pal’s villains stack up in opposition to Vader? And who will get to say, “I’ve a foul feeling about this?”

These and extra questions can be answered, hopefully, when “Obi-Wan Kenobi” premieres on Might 27 on Disney+.
