On June 14, the U.S. Justice Division Workplace of the Inspector Normal (OIG) launched its audit of the U.S. Marshals Service’s (USMS) administration of seized cryptocurrency from fiscal 12 months (FY) 2017 by FY 2021.

The OIG warned that deficiencies within the USMS’s present working procedures danger “an inaccurate accounting of cryptocurrency in USMS custody and the potential for a lack of property.”
