The Week Ahead: Your stories to look out for in North Central Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – The Martin Luther King Day holiday is Monday, with events planned across North Central Florida. Government offices and some businesses will close. Bus services will be limited in Gainesville, but not in Ocala.

Wednesday will be a busy day. The Lake City Planning & Zoning board resumes discussions over a controversial proposal to expand the Circle K gas station at I-75 and US 90.

Also, GRU Authority Board members discuss selling off property in the power district and determining the annual general fund transfer to city government.

The state releases county-by-county unemployment reports for the month of December on Friday. We will keep an eye on whether the numbers remain at historic lows.
