The West African nation has been battling an armed rebellion by insurgent teams, some linked to al-Qaeda and ISIL (ISIS), which management massive swaths of territory inside and wage frequent assaults throughout the Sahel.

“Throughout operations which made it attainable to neutralize a number of dozen terrorists, the strikes sadly precipitated collateral victims throughout the civilian inhabitants,” the military mentioned in an announcement on Wednesday.

It didn’t say what number of civilians have been killed. The victims have been hit by projectiles within the zone between Kompienga and Pognoa, close to the border with Togo, on Monday, it mentioned.

Togo, which has been contending with the spillover of militancy from Burkina Faso, by accident killed seven youngsters in an air raid final month close to the identical border.
