BOTTOM LINE: Wyoming visits UNLV after Obi Agbim scored 26 points in Wyoming’s 79-63 loss to the Colorado State Rams.

The Rebels are 8-1 in home games. UNLV is ninth in the MWC in rebounding averaging 30.7 rebounds. Jeremiah Cherry leads the Rebels with 5.3 boards.

Cowboys to begin road swing with trip to UNLV


LARAMIE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Cowboys will open a road swing with a trip to Las Vegas for a battle against UNLV on Tuesday evening.

Wyoming heads into the contest with a 9–9 overall record and a 2–5 mark in conference play after falling at home to Colorado State on Saturday.

UW is shooting 45% from the field on the season and 35.2% from 3-point range, while holding opponents to 44.4%.

The Runnin’ Rebels are 11–7 on the season and 5–2 in the MW after downing No. 22 Utah State and San Diego State last week. UNLV is shooting 36.7% from behind the arc this season, the second-best mark in the conference. The team averages 71.7 points per game and is allowing 70.4 per night.

The Cowboys are led by Obi Agbim, whose 18.8 points per game rank second in the conference. He is shooting 46.2% from behind the arc to lead the league and rank sixth in the nation. Jordan Nesbitt added his sixth double-double of the season at Air Force, and contributes 8.4 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per night. Kobe Newton adds 8.3 points per game.

UNLV is led in scoring this season by Dedan Thomas Jr. at 15.8 points per game. He also leads the team with 81 assists on the season for 4.5 per game. Jaden Henley adds 11.5 points per game, and Jailen Bedford adds 10.6 and is second on the team with 35 3-point makes. Jeremiah “Bear” Cherry leads the team with 5.3 rebounds per game.

The Rebels have gone 10-1 at home. UNLV is sixth in the MWC at limiting opponent scoring, allowing 63.1 points while holding opponents to 40.6% shooting.

The Cowgirls are 4-1 in MWC play.
