Wyoming Motorcyclist Dead After Hitting Curb in Laramie

A 48-year-old Wyoming man is dead after crashing his motorcycle in Laramie.

According to a fatality crash summary released Monday, Oct. 23, by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:07 p.m. on Oct. 6.

The summary says Steven Girard was headed south on McCue Street when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, applied the brakes, hit the curb, and was thrown from his bike.

Girard was not wearing his helmet and died from his injuries.

The summary lists speed as a possible contributing factor.

Girard is the 14th motorcyclist to die on Wyoming’s highways so far this year.

Calls to the Laramie Police Department seeking more information were not immediately returned.
