DUBOIS, Wyo. — Two days into summer of 2025 and after weeks of more seasonable weather, nature once again proved who is in charge with an overnight dropping of snow in a high-altitude pass in western Wyoming June 21 and into this morning.
WYDOT camera captures collected by the National Weather Service station in Riverton, Wyoming depict two different scenes of Togwotee Pass in the Wind River Range at around 5:30 a.m. According to the NWS, roads were minimally impacted and were mostly just wet.
That snow comes one evening after the longest day of the year and the start of summer, Friday, June 20. Highs yesterday in the nearby Dubois area reached up to 68 degrees. The same day, other parts of Wyoming saw high temps in the 90s.
The area is again faced with freezing temps tonight, with the National Weather Service predicting a low around 31 degrees. Simultaneously, there is a slight chance of rain this evening.
