Police: 29-year-old man killed in police-involved shooting in Washington Heights
A 29-year-old man was killed in a
police-involved taking pictures early Sunday morning in Washington Heights, the NYPD
says.
Police say officers from the thirty fourth
Precinct noticed what gave the impression to be a struggle at Nagle Avenue and Dyckman
Road round 3 a.m.
That’s when police say they noticed the
29-year-old with a gun and demanded he drop it. Sooner or later, 4 officers
discharged their weapons, wounding the person. He was restrained and brought to a
hospital the place he was pronounced lifeless.
A firearm was recovered on the scene.
One other man was grazed throughout the gunfire.
No officers have been injured. The circumstances surrounding why police fired their
weapons stays unclear and is being investigated, police say.
The 29-year-old was on parole. His title was not instantly launched.
