Johanna Brandtner Levy, 86, of Washington, Pa., handed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, on the Residence at Hilltop, Monongahela, Pa.  She was born Feb. 18, 1936, in Charleroi, daughter of the late Valentine and Johanna Taylor Brandtner. Mrs. Levy was a 1954 graduate of Charleroi Excessive College. She was a really clever pupil, making the dignity roll each semester from her freshman to senior 12 months. Mrs. Levy first labored within the promoting division at Fox’s Grocery. She later was employed within the merchandising division at Langs, from the place she retired. Mrs. Levy was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, and was a member of the Christian Moms and Catholic Daughters of the church.  She at one time served as president of the Christian Moms. Mrs. Levy was a volunteer with the Washington Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan, beloved to learn, sew, crochet, knit and paint. Mrs. Levy was an achieved artist, successful numerous awards for her portray. She at one time was additionally a den mom for the Cub Scouts in Washington. Mrs. Levy shall be dearly missed by all who knew and beloved her. On April 14, 1956, she married Glenn C. Levy, who died Nov. 16, 2018. Surviving are a daughter, Carol (Thomas) Dolovacky of Surroundings Hill; a son, Michael (Jody) Levy of Washington; two grandsons, Joe (Brooke) Avolia and Sam Avolia; 4 great-grandchildren, Irelynd, Camden, Dakohta and Emmah; two sisters-in-law, Sally Sedunov of Wyano, Pa., and JoAnn Brandtner of Greensburg; a nephew, John (Elizabeth) Sedunov III of Phoenixville, Pa.; and three nieces, Valerie (Dave) Kostly of Greensburg, Cynthia (Chris) Leonard of North Carolina and Danielle Leaper of Somerville, N.J. A number of great-nieces and great-nephews additionally survive. Along with her mother and father and husband, Mrs. Levy was preceded in loss of life by a sister, Kathleen Leaper; a brother, Valentine Brandtner; sister and brother-in-law, Sam and Ruth Levy; and a brother-in-law, John Sedunov Jr. The household want to categorical their gratitude to the workers on the Residence at Hilltop for the loving care and compassion that was given to Johanna whereas below their care. Mates shall be obtained from 2 to 4 and 6 to eight p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at WARCO-FALVO FUNERAL HOME INC., Wilson Avenue at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, proprietor/supervisor, Holly Renay Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, Park N. Crosier, director.  The Christian Moms of Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, will recite the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Thursday within the funeral residence. A prayer service shall be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, within the funeral residence, adopted by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish, 119 W. Chestnut St. Washington with the Rev. George Chortos as celebrant. Interment will observe in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions could also be made to St. James Parish, 119 W.
