Utah woman dies after SUV hits motorcycle on Idaho highway

GEM COUNTY, Idaho — A lady from Utah was killed in an accident Saturday when the bike she was using on was hit head-on by a Jeep in Idaho.

In response to Idaho State Police, a Jeep Renegade touring north on State Freeway 16 simply after 4 p.m. crossed the middle line and hit a southbound Kawasaki bike.

The crash occurred close to milepost 110, between the cities of Emmett and Star, and about 25 miles northwest of Boise.

The bike was being pushed by a 61-year-old man from Star, and the passenger was a 39-year-old girl from Kearns, Utah. They have been each taken to a hospital by medical helicopter, however the girl later died from her accidents. Her title has not been launched as of Sunday night.

Each of the riders have been carrying helmets.

Police stated proof on the scene indicated that alcohol “might have been concerned for the motive force of the Jeep,” and an investigation is underway. The motive force was not named however was recognized as a girl from Emmett.
