Taylorsville man nearly severs hand after explosion in Utah County
UTAH COUNTY, Utah — A 49-year-old man is in crucial situation after his hand was practically severed by an explosion Saturday morning.
At roughly 10 a.m., the Taylorsville man was on personal property close to Hancock Ranch Street when he entered a delivery container with a number of completely different sorts of flammable fuels, in accordance with the Utah County Sheriff’s Workplace.
“He walked to the far finish of the container, lit a conveyable propane heater, then walked again towards the doorway,” reads the sheriff’s workplace assertion. “As he bought to the doorway, the vapors contained in the container ignited and exploded.”
First responders with Santaquin, Payson, Genola, and Goshen responded and started first help to the person. After stabilizing him, AirLife Utah flew him to the burn unit on the College of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake Metropolis.
In response to the sheriff’s workplace, the person’s accidents are life-threatening, as he sustained second-degree burns on about 35% of his physique with much less extreme burns on the remainder of his physique. His proper hand was “practically severed” because of the explosion.
