Four years after President Russell M. Nelson announced the building of a Latter-day Saint temple in Syracuse, that sacred edifice is nearly ready for the public to get a peek.
On Tuesday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced that members of the media can tour Utah’s newest temple — on the east shore of the Great Salt Lake in Davis County — on May 7 and invited guests will follow on May 8 and 9.
A public open house will run from May 10 through 31.

The single-spired, three-story, 89,000-square-foot Syracuse Temple is poised to be dedicated on June 8. It is the church’s 31st planned or existing temple in Utah and the third in Davis County.
Latter-day Saints view a temple as a House of the Lord, a place where the faithful participate in their religion’s highest rituals, including eternal marriage.
