South Carolina man confesses to murdering California woman 21 years later

A South Carolina man has confessed to the homicide of a California girl 21 years in the past in Alabama, based on native stories.

Brian Jones, 62, packed two luggage of non-public belongings and took a bus from South Carolina to Bessemer, Alabama, to admit the crime, Bessemer Police Lt. Christian Clemons instructed FOX 6 Birmingham.

Her household reported her lacking in 2002, telling authorities that Luxford traveled from her residence in Jacksonville, Florida, to a motel in Bessemer in September 2001 when she was “final seen leaving with unknown trucker,” the NamUS web site states.

Jones, her boyfriend and a trucker on the time, confessed to the Bessemer Police Division that he hit Luxford within the throat with a membership in February 2001 after the pair bought right into a dispute over cash at a Bessemer motel on ninth Ave. SW. He instructed police the homicide was unintentional, based on the outlet.

Jones is charged with first-degree homicide and abuse of a corpse. He’s being held on $750,000 bond, based on the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Workplace.
