Seattle City Councimember Lisa Herbold not running for re-election
SEATTLE – Seattle Metropolis Councilmember Lisa Herbold introduced that she is not going to be operating for re-election to signify District 1 for an additional time period.
District 1 encompasses the West Seattle and South Park neighborhoods.
“I cannot be operating for re-election in 2023. Above my love of public service to the constituents of District 1, I don’t need the Council to lose a progressive voice on the Council.
The 2022 elections final month had been good for progressives. I really feel prefer it’s time to do my half to create an open seat election in District 1. I consider that an open seat can higher drive turnout and ship District 1 to a different progressive,” Herbold wrote, partly, on her web site.
Herbold was elected to Seattle Metropolis Council in 2015. She is the chair of the Public Security & Human Providers Committee. She additionally serves on the Finance & Housing, Financial Growth, Expertise & Metropolis Gentle, Public Belongings & Homelessness, and Transportation & Seattle Public Utilities Committees.
