Officers arrest suspect accused of setting at least 4 fires in Seattle’s Central District

Seattle Police have arrested a suspect they are saying set a number of fires across the Central District neighborhood on Monday evening.

In response to the Seattle Fireplace Division, at the very least 4 fires had been set within the neighborhood inside a span of an hour. 

  • The primary was reported round 7:28 p.m. at 635 thirty seventh Ave.
  • Round 8:25 p.m., one other fireplace was reported at 512 thirty first Avenue. Moments later, one other fireplace broke out throughout the road at 517 thirty first Avenue.
  • By 8:40 p.m., a fourth fireplace was reported at 517 thirtieth Avenue, in line with Seattle Fireplace Division tweets.

Seattle Police tweeted that that they had arrested an individual suspected in setting these fires simply after 9 p.m.

SPD’s arson and bomb squad are heading to the scenes to research every fireplace.

Seattle Fireplace mentioned it doesn’t seem that there have been any accidents or vital harm. 

The Seattle fires and subsequent arrest come after officers in Kent are investigating 5 fires that had been deliberately set.

The fires occurred close to Southeast 240th Road between 104th and 106th avenues Southeast, within the East Hill neighborhood.

A suspect has not been arrested within the Kent arsons.
