There is now some clarity on the merchandise that was sparking outrage among Seattle Mariners players and fans.

Ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays-Mariners series in Seattle this weekend, one Mariners fan spotted some Blue Jays merch in the Mariners’ team store, a revelation that angered some Seattle players.

“What the hell is this @MarinersStore,” Seattle reliever Paul Sewald tweeted.

“Damn smh,” Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford wrote, adding a facepalm emoji.

According to the Mariners, the mishap is just a big misunderstanding.

“Following the All-Star Game we had a limited amount of leftover merchandise from different (mostly AL) teams,” a team spokesperson said in a statement to The Post.

“The Blue Jays merchandise in question has now been removed from the Team Store.”

Though some fans may have theorized that the Toronto merchandise was being sold in preparation for the teams’ faceoff this weekend — which often attracts a large number of Blue Jays fans just across the border — the reality is the Mariners just had a few extra Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette T-shirts from last week’s All-Star festivities at T-Mobile Park.

Guerrero won the Home Run Derby, beating budding Mariners superstar Julio Rodriguez in the second round.

Earlier on Tuesday, a team spokesperson announced that tickets for the weekend series were selling rapidly, with 40,000 seats already taken for Friday and Saturday’s game.

The Blue Jays and Mariners also have some recent postseason history: the teams squared off in an American League wild-card series last season when the Mariners swept the Blue Jays in two dramatic games in Toronto.

Seattle, which was making its first playoff appearance since 2001, came back from a seven-run deficit in Game 2 to stun Toronto at its home field and knock the Jays out of the playoffs.

This season, the Blue Jays have found more success, sitting in third place in the AL East with a 53-42 record and currently holding a wild-card spot while the Mariners are 47-46 and outside the playoff picture.
