Man arrested for attacking woman in Seattle’s International District

A 33-year-old man was arrested Thursday, suspected of attacking a lady in Seattle’s Chinatown-Worldwide District.

The girl was strolling to work at 6:20 a.m. close to Fifth Ave S and S Weller St, and stated a person was calling out to her from the road.

She advised him to go away her alone and stored strolling, however the man ran up behind her and attacked her, authorities say. He reportedly tried to hit her within the face, however she prevented it and ran.

The girl referred to as 911, and officers discovered the suspect sleeping in Hing Hay Park. He was booked into the King County Jail for assault and an unrelated misdemeanor assault warrant.
