Power restored to all areas of San Francisco International Airport, officials say

SAN FRANCISCO — Power has been restored at San Francisco International Airport, spokesperson Doug Yakel said at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday.

The airport first tweeted about the outage at 8:55 p.m. Affected areas were ticketing, baggage and gates.

The cause of the outage is still undetermined and is under investigation, according to SFO spokesperson Doug Yakel.

Several videos sent to ABC7 News showed passengers sitting in the dark in Terminal 2. One person tweeted that the power has been out for at least 20 minutes.

San Jose Mineta International Airport confirmed to ABC7 News it received two diverted flights from SFO – Alaska Air flights 295 and 369 Orlando. No word on whether the diversions were due to the power outage.
