Julia Roberts’s Historic San Francisco Home Sells for $11.3 Million

After only two weeks on the market, Julia Roberts’s San Francisco home has sold. According to Mansion Global, a buyer snagged the 1912 build in late October for $11.25 million, about $500,000 less than the asking price. Roberts purchased the 6,300-square-foot Presidio Heights residence in February of 2020 for $8.3 million. The San Francisco Chronicle states that the Oscar winner and her cinematographer husband Daniel Moder made extensive upgrades to the Edwardian home during their ownership.

Originally designed by architect Sylvain Schnaittacher, the five-story abode houses five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms. The Pretty Woman star and Moder retained period features like crown molding, stained glass windows, and the living room’s fireplace, but managed to put a fresh spin on the decor with modern furniture and fresh paint colors.

Lower level cabinets in the home’s quaint kitchen are painted a matte ocean blue and a mix of open shelving and cabinets in a pale olive green are up top, while a cozy breakfast nook features picture windows, opening up to the scenic surroundings. The primary suite, which takes up the entire third floor, boasts a seating area, a balcony, a dressing room, an office, and a separate shower and claw-foot tub in the bathroom. The dwelling’s other amenities include a bar, gym, and a bonus room on the top floor. Out back, the couple added a deck with a spa and an olive tree to complement the landscaped lawn.

Roberts and Moder, who share three children together, maintain a residence in Malibu.
