The Toronto Blue Jays (12-9) and San Diego Padres (11-12) wrap up a 3-game series at Petco Park Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Blue Jays vs. Padres odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Blue Jays lead 2-0

The Blue Jays, who were -118 favorites, won 5-2 in the 2nd game of the series Saturday. LF Daulton Varsho hit a 3-run HR for the Blue Jays, who have won 6 of their last 7 games.

The Padres have lost 3 straight games and scored a total of just 3 runs over that span. San Diego has not been swept in a series this season.

Blue Jays at Padres picks and predictions

Prediction

Padres 3, Blue Jays 2

Moneyline

The PADRES (-130) have not been swept in a series this season, and Bassitt on the mound for Toronto should help San Diego’s offense get back on track Sunday.

Bassitt has struggled against San Diego in past years and started this season by allowing 4 or more runs in back-to-back outings. Musgrove, on the other hand, has been solid vs. the Blue Jays, and it’s unlikely that he picks up his 1st career loss against them Sunday.

BET PADRES (-130).

Run line/Against the spread

With how the Padres have been struggling offensively, I wouldn’t recommend playing them on the run line, especially since they’re at home and may not play the bottom of the 9th.

PASS. Bet the ML and/or total instead.

Over/Under

The Under has hit in the 1st 2 games of this series, and with how quiet the Padres’ bats have been, it’ll likely be the safer play again Sunday. While both pitchers have allowed 4 or more runs in multiple starts this season, I don’t trust either offense to do most of the heavy lifting and help the Over hit in the final game of this series.

BET UNDER 8 (-115).
