Tea-Wisted Delight: California English's Boozy Afternoon Brew

Published

on

We’re buzzing about the latest addition to San Diego’s food scene, and it’s not your grandma’s tea party! California English is shaking things up with their new “Tipsy Tea Time”—a cheeky twist on the classic afternoon tea that’s got us all aflutter.

Imagine sipping on tea-infused cocktails while nibbling on gourmet bites, all with a dash of British charm and a hefty splash of San Diego cool. It’s like stepping into a whimsical garden party where the Mad Hatter traded his hat for a cocktail shaker.

Sip, Savor, and Play

The menu is a playful dance of flavors that’ll make your taste buds do a happy jig. We’re talking Hot Honey Fried Chicken Scones that’ll make you question why you ever ate scones any other way.

And don’t get us started on the Hamachi Crispy Rice Bars—they’re so good, you might forget you’re at a tea party and not a swanky sushi joint.

But the real stars of the show? The boozy tea cocktails. The Chap’s Medicine is basically what happens when bourbon and chamomile tea decide to elope. And the Southern Belle? Let’s just say it’s the kind of drink that’ll make you want to buy a fancy hat and start saying “y’all” unironically.

Between sips and bites, we’ll be trying our hand at croquet and cornhole. Who knows? We might just win some swag to commemorate our descent into tipsy teatime madness.

See you there!

Want to join the fun at California English? The launch event is happening on Wednesday, August 21, from 5 PM to 7 PM. Tickets are $55 a pop, which includes two drink tickets. Just remember, this shindig is strictly 21+, so leave the kiddos at home for this one.

Reserve your tickets here.

Can’t make it to the launch? No worries! You can get your tipsy tea fix Tuesdays through Saturdays from 3 PM to 5 PM. Just book a regular tea time and let your server know you’re in the mood for something a little stronger than Earl Grey.

See you there, San Diego!
