OBITUARY

Linda A. Cisco of San Diego passed away on October 11, 2024 at the UCSD Hillcrest hospital after an intense battle with cancer. Linda was 71. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Cisco and Gertrude Eddy, and her sister, Susan Hoefle. She leaves a family who love her deeply: her husband, John Donnelly, her daughters Shilo White and Corby White, her step-son, Toby White, her brothers Dan Cisco and Thomas Eddy, and her sister, Jennifer Dodero.

Linda was born in Honolulu where her parents were stationed while her father was in the service. She grew up in the Allied Gardens neighborhood of San Diego and attended local schools including St. Theresa’s, and later, Grantville Elementary, Lewis Junior High and Patrick Henry High School.

Linda began her career as a teller at the San Diego Trust and Savings in Point Loma. She moved to Idaho Falls and eventually worked at the Idaho National Laboratory where she had her start in project control and planning. She went on to work at Hickam Field, Rocky Flats Plant, Ford Motor Company and Chevron. Many of her assignments were thru P Cubed. She became a journeyman planner skilled at using the planning tool and climbed the ladder into project management.

Linda was an original resident at her condo in San Diego and was very active in that community where she had been on the board and had served on various committees. She loved the Book Club and spent many enjoyable afternoons with the members. Linda was also a keen Mahjong player.

While living in Houston she served as an escort for Planned Parenthood. She espoused kindness to others and supported charitable organizations.

An accomplished cook, Linda published the Cisco Family Cookbook in 2007 and had recently updated it and her daughter Shilo will publish it posthumously. Her family always looked forward to her Christmas Eve dinners. Her Uncle Tom and Aunt Rita would sit at the bar overlooking the kitchen to enjoy watching the chef at work!

Linda and her daughter Corby bought land and built a home in Hawaii which she visited and gardened at every year and had the dream of living her years out there. Cisco and John had an RV and in the last few years had spent many enjoyable times at local State Beaches, Burnt Rancheria, and National Parks and campgrounds throughout the Western U.S.
